FAQs
How much do your sessions cost?
For a 50 Min Session, the fee is $130
For a 30 Min Session, the fee is $70
Do you take insurance?
At this time, I do not take insurance. However, your HSA could pay for your counseling sessions. Speak with whoever holds your HSA to see if sessions could be covered.
Why don’t you take insurance?
One reason I do not accept insurance, is that insurance companies require that I share your diagnosis and treatment notes in order to receive payment. This becomes part of your permanent medical record which may have negative consequences related to your employment, or when you are seeking new medical insurance or life insurance.
Another reason that I do not take insurance, is because insurance companies require therapists to follow approved treatment methods and often limit the number of sessions that they cover. These requirements may not always be in the best interest of the client.
By not accepting insurance, I can make sure that your therapeutic information remains confidential. I can also customize a treatment plan based on your individual needs and goals for therapy, instead of using a treatment plan dictated by insurance.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, flexible spending accounts, and health savings accounts. Please bring the exact amount if paying with cash.
What is your cancellation policy?
There is no charge if you cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. You will be charged for 50% of the session’s fee if a notice of less than 24 hours is given.
Do you have any resources I can use?
I am putting the finishing touches on both a resource page and a newsletter, so keep coming back to check in on that!
